Eliot Not a Major Statement like the albums before and after (Operate Spaceship Earth and Skeleton Dream) but that almost makes me like it better. It's just Big Blood doing Big Blood, and if you like Double Days II and Daughter's Union you'll like this too. Some of it's a little odds-and-ends-y, but Hail the Happy Hourlings is the most magical five minutes they've made in forever. Favorite track: Hail The Happy Hourlings.

Grain Sparrow See how the fox-jackal’s cape looks like a samurai hat in a Kurosawa film? So the music feels holy and piercing, like Red Beard, like Rhapsody in August. Listen close to the piano sound in Hail the Happy Hourlings and A Message Sent. Put Time Is Coming on repeat until you’ve memorized every uplifting, jagged guitar solo. May Baby Eyes move you to tears as it does me. And may Side B strip you of the world’s accumulated bitterness, at least for twenty minutes. Favorite track: Serpent Skies.
