Grain Sparrow The only Syd Barrett cover I know that needn't cower next to the original concludes this rightly beloved old Big Blood classic: the songs are catchy, colorful beneath their darkness, the arrangements folk-psych with folk in the foreground, and New Dish Rag gets stuck in your head just like the vocal tunes. But Big Blood being Big Blood, much beauty and ingenuity is hidden, and will reveal itself only on the tenth listen, or the hundredth. Favorite track: Night Lighter.

taster0fwaste This album is what got me hooked on big blood, so good. It’s the perfect gothic folk album. Ethereal,dark and fresh but still familiar and easily listenable. The instrumentals on graceless lady are to kill for, the warbling electric guitar in the background, howling strings that remind me of the wind, and that hypnotic acoustic rhythm are so amazing and support Colleen’s vocals so beautifully (who never cease to amaze me) the next track blood mumble is also amazing my 2nd fav I’m out of wo Favorite track: Graceless Lady.
